On a romantic trip to Kauai with my wife we decided to make a 10 hour hike. Up and down mountains, through the jungle and several stream crossings the hike kicked our butts. We headed into town to get something to eat as a couple of people in a stinky, sweaty mess. Unfortunately the island was still coming out of the post-pandemic under employment phase. None of the restaurants could hire enough people to meet the demand. We couldn’t get food as take out so we sat at bar waiting for our food so we could ask for it to got. Our plan was to sit on the beach and enjoy dinner at sunset. Unfortunately it took longer than we had hoped. I peeked outside and could tell an AMAZING sunset was about to hit. I apologized to my wife and told her I had to go, but I would come back for her. I dashed off in our rent-a-wreck car, sprinted to the edge of the water and got the shot. I then quickly went back to the restaurant to pick up my dinner and my very patient, very understanding wife.
